Who are you?
Hi, I'm Dara McGann. I am an engineering manager and I'm the co-lead of the Families EBC in Dublin, and I'm looking forward to answering your questions.
Can you tell me something interesting about yourself?
I have had long hair and a beard for: 20 years for the hair, and 16 years for the beard, and during that time I have only had three barbers. The second barber left about eight years ago, and before he left, he handpicked his successor to cut my hair and my beard. He was very protective of my hair and was very specific about how my beard is to be cut. So he did a full handover before he left.
What's your favourite thing about working at Workday?
The thing that surprised me about working at Workday was the culture. Everywhere I'd worked previously, culture was a sign on the wall. It was something that they were aspiring to and something that was probably missing. Whereas when I came into Workday, the culture was very obvious from the outset. It was involved in the interviews, it was there as part of the process, and when I got here it was very obvious that the people were living the culture. It wasn't just something on the wall. The culture is really the best part of Workday for me.
