Who are you?
My name is Alessia. I am the kind of person who will dance with headphones on like nobody's watching. People will say that I'm loud. I want to believe that I am fluent in decibels and particularly proficient in the art of um, enthusiastic expression. My background, I am a lawyer. And last but not least, I'm an ally.
What is your role at Workday?
I am part of the Go-to Market legal team, which is part of the broader legal team LCCA, which stands for Legal Compliance and Corporate Affairs. Go-to Market legal, we're sort of the customers and partners facing lawyers, but we're good people, I promise.
What is a Workday EBC?
EBCs at Workday are Employee Belonging Councils and they're meant to be open communities where we foster diversity, belonging, and inclusion for those communities, which historically and for other different reasons and may have been deprived of equality, and that could be disability status or veteran status or gender, or even sexual orientation. Specifically, I am part together with two other colleagues, Robert Oriano and Chavisera of the UK Pride EBC, and our mission really is to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and making sure that everybody can bring their own selves safely at work every day. And we do this in many different ways, whether it's creating connections among workmates or organising events, or even supporting the LGBTQ+ communities in London and in the rest of the country.
